Day 5

"Who Says So?"

Exodus 3:1-15

By the time we finish this set of devotions,
I am sure we will all agree that Moses
had his hands full leading those Israelites
who were often unbelieving, stubborn, rebellious,
and downright antagonistic toward his leadership.
Despite all of that though, it seemed
that whenever Moses could show through
powerful demonstrations that God was the
one who said so, the people fell in line.

That much I envy. I wish that people today
would see the Bible for what it is,
the true word of the one true
God! If only we could simply
show people what the Bible says
and have them go with that because
it is God's word not ours.,br>
Sadly, most of the world dismisses
the Bible as something less than the
inspired word of our creator.
If it's not that, then of course
it would not hold sway over our lives.
But it is!

Moses asked God how he would justify
his leadership over the Israelites.
God said to tell them who sent him,
and God would back it up with powerful deeds.
So, the answer to the question
“Who says so?” - is God says so!

Prayer: Father, only You can turn a heart
toward accepting Your word as true
but help us instill that in our children
and church children. We do have
an influence over those You've
given us charge of, so help us be
faithful with that influence. Help
us teach them that You say so!

P.S. According to The Christian Post,
a recent Gallup poll found that only
28% of Americans believe that the Bible is the
Word of God and should be taken literally.
Although nearly 50% believe that the Bible
is the "inspired Word of God," just that not
all of its content should be taken
literally, but rather as "metaphors and
allegories that allow for interpretation”.

The prevailing belief in our culture
is that while the Bible may be the inspired Word
of God, it doesn't mean what it says.
The majority of professing Christians
in America have rejected the objective
authority of the inerrant Word of God
and have replaced it with the authority of self.”
